Once upon a morning dreary, as I wandered weak and weary…I was opening after a really late night, and during the pre-open meeting, my addled brain had hit an impressive speedbump that I like to call SEVERE ADD. Instead of actively participating in the meeting, I was staring off at the various shiny things on display in the store (ooh, NEW PRODUCT!) and a certain glorious thing caught my eye…THE SCARF OF AGES. There was nothing about this scarf that was not the most perfect thing that I had laid eyes on. BUT ALAS! The price made my wallet weep. Its delightful stripes, those sultry tones of blue (or something) called to me every day, but I was determined to out-immigrant Chapters. The price started dropping, and I started creeping around the scarf table in hopes of seeing a sticker signalling a further discount. This was the moment at which I realized I have become my mother.
Anyway, today, I walked into the store on a mission…a GLORIOUS MISSION. I was to buy the scarf after my shift. No word of a lie, that was the thing I was most excited about today. I don’t know what that says about my existence, but I’m just going to claim that I’m charming and back away slowly.
HARK! THE SCARF OF AGES!
…and someone said money can’t buy happiness. They just clearly haven’t found a material good capable of bringing them as much joy as this scarf brings me. Again, my life. I also picked up Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury, as I have yet to read it (BLASPHEMY), and a small Schleich giraffe.
…do we sense a theme?
But anyhow, now that I’ve received all of my TTU paperwork, I am entirely ready for Texas, from a bureaucratic standpoint. I am going to go pack some things…or read. But mostly read.
